GSG9 Bandit

BIO

Brunsmeier and his twin brother Cedrick joined the Bundesgrenzschutz (BGS) the day after their eighteenth birthday in 1992. Stationed with border patrol, Brunsmeier spent his first year getting accustomed to taking orders and filing paperwork.

In 1994, he was assigned to a joint task force aimed at quelling the growing threat of the Red Army Faction (RAF). In 2006 he was recruited by the GSG-9 to go undercover, where he would spend four years embedded with the Hannover Chapter of the Hell's Angels.

Psychological Profile

A prankster, Brunsmeier forced his brother Cedrick into early retirement from the BGS with his Crude Electrical Device. He is also known for taking obsolete items and repurposing them into weapons.

Overview

Bandit can place his Shock Wires on all metallic gadgets, which include Barbed Wire, Reinforced Walls, and Deployable Shields.

In the Preparation Phase, swiftly block access to enemy drones by setting barbed wire and electrifying it with the CED to destroy any drones that come in contact with the wire - you can sync with your teammates to quickly set these traps.

If Mute is out of Signal Disruptors, place Shock Wires on reinforced walls that are not covered: when electrified, gadgets placed on them will be disabled instantly.

Shock Wires are vulnerable to Thatcher's EMP Grenade. You can also put up a Deployable Shield at the entrance of a room and electrify it. If enemies try to vault over it, they'll suffer electrical damage.

The Shock Wire is only capable of electrifying one reinforced wall or barbed wire at a time.

Be aware that Bandit's Shock Wire will destroy Mute's Signal Disruptors if the affected gear is in contact with that gadget.

Bandit's Shock Wire can even destroy Kapkan's Entry Denial Devices, so make sure to warn your teammates where you plan to place your wires.

If the Shock Wire destroys a Drone, you will earn 20 points instead of 10 due to earning an electrified effect bonus.

Mixing Bandit's Shock Wire with Castle's reinforced barricades can prove quite effective at slowing down or killing enemies when they enter the wire to set breaching charges, cluster charges or using melee or breaching hammers.

It is possible to get a kill when you're dead if Bandit's gadget is still intact, similar to Kapkan's EDDs and Frost's Welcome Mats.

Loadout Description

The CED-1 is the result of Brunsmeier’s resourceful nature. The device was first created when he was cornered in an abandoned auto shop outside of Frankfurt. Using what was available to him, Brunsmeier fashioned a crude electrical device and was able to secure his defenses by electrifying a metallic door and shocking his assailants as they attempted to breach his stronghold. The device, though relatively low-tech, has followed Brunsmeier from GSG-9 to Team Rainbow, due to its consistent and effective performance in the field.

In the Rainbow Six Siege Intro Video, an unnamed, mask-less GSG 9 bearded male operator can be seen as part of a profile dossier. This unnamed operator has been rumored to be Bandit. This rumor can further be speculated as Bandit, as in Bandit's bio, the year 2006 and 2010 is relevant to him going undercover and departing from his undercover duties respectively. What years can be seen on the profile dossier? 2006, and 2010 (Not to mention, on the dossier, before being cut off by the edge of the screen, right after the year 2010, the word "Exits" can be seen, potentially referencing the year Bandit departed from his undercover duties).
